Scott Turner joins the SRE team!
September 1, 2015 - Savannah Race Engineering is pleased to welcome Scott Turner to the SRE team. Scott began his racing career in motorcycles at the age of 12 in Georgia riding for Shivley Racing. They were well known for the first Honda motorcycles with air front and mono-shock rear suspensions. He earned the number 6 plate during the AMA series racing in Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Soccer became a major part of his life (playing in England and in the U.S. professionally) . Racing took a back seat until Panoz Race School was opened at Sebring Florida and Road Atlanta. After completing the school, Scott raced two seasons competing for the championship and earned numerous podium finishes and pole positions. In the mid 90's he purchased a 1966 Shelby GT350 to compete in HSR/SVRA before he was talked into selling the car which now resides in England. Scott started his professional racing career in the Grand-Am Series and Rolex Series. Again, Scott earned numerous podium finishes at the pro level. Scott's passion for 60's vintage GT350's inspired him to purchase another '66 GT350 with significant race history which he brought to the shops of SRE to prepare and support racing the car in the HSR and SVRA series. Scott has a successful law firm on the east coast of Florida. Between trying cases, he keeps busy chasing his three daughters away from shopping malls, paying for college and "trying" to convince his wife that racing is cheep therapy.
